Hosts Annual Youth Rodeo Night for Scholarship Winners and Boys & Girls Clubs

HOUSTON (Jan. 31, 2012) – Twenty days, 2.2 million visitors, 2.1 million square feet and more than 30,000 animals can only mean one thing: the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is back in town. Marking the eighth year as Houston’s Official Lift Truck Provider, Cat Lift Trucks will provide more than 100 lift trucks needed to prepare Reliant Park for the massive influx of Rodeo-goers and livestock.

Along with local dealer Adobe Equipment Houston, LLC (Adobe), Cat Lift Trucks will provide a broad range of lift trucks to prepare for the world’s largest livestock show and richest regular-season rodeo, including a broad range of internal combustion cushion tire and pneumatic tire lift trucks. Used exclusively throughout the 260-acre Reliant Park, these lift trucks are equipped to address the varying needs of Rodeo logistics, from moving loads quickly in rugged terrain to moving oversized loads with ease.

The Cat® lift trucks are used daily to keep the show running, including moving animal feed, hay and food supplies, setting up the stage equipment for nightly performances, and delivering more than 600,000 visitor guides throughout the property. Adobe technicians also will be on hand around the clock to service and support all donated lift trucks, demonstrating Cat Lift Trucks continued commitment to quality service.

“It's an honor to continue as the Official Lift Truck Provider for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo,” said Kent Eudy, vice president of sales and marketing for Cat Lift Trucks. “As a Houston-based manufacturer, we are proud to serve our community through our city’s world-renowned livestock show and rodeo, and we look forward to this season every year.”

Cat Lift Trucks will further engage with the community through its annual Cat Lift Trucks Youth Night, this year hosting the children of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH). Cat Lift Trucks invited 30 Boys & Girls Club kids to enjoy a fun-filled experience at the Rodeo, complete with suite tickets to the Big Time Rush concert on Sunday, March 4.

The Cat Lift Trucks scholarship program, now in its eighth year, will award a $5,000 scholarship to an exemplary Houston-area student pursuing a higher education in a mechanical engineering or business-related field. The winner will be announced on the Cat Lift Trucks Facebook page by Feb. 22.

The 2012 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will begin Tuesday, February 28 and run through Sunday, March 18. Watch Cat® lift trucks in action at the Rodeo at www.facebook.com/catlifttrucks or www.cat-lift.com.
